Marbella del Caribe

«Marbella del Caribe is a series of photographs made from a rented apartment in Puerto Rico during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pool area was restricted and required a reservation which allowed bathers to stay for one hour.
Adults sunbathing, kids playing, selfies, kissing, and dancing; it all happened around the wall dividing the shallow from the deep end.

After months of photographing and watching people’s behavior and social habits in this public space, I noticed specific patterns.
Postures and gestures were replicated among my subjects, despite the community’s diversity.»
